In which specific situation does a large number of pedestrian run-overs occur?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is when a vehicle is reversing. This is because, during this maneuver, the driver's visibility is drastically reduced and there are large blind spots at the rear of the vehicle. These situations are especially critical near garages, parking exits, or access ramps, where pedestrians may cross unexpectedly. Although night driving reduces overall visibility and motorways are dangerous because of speed, statistically, the reversing maneuver in urban areas or at property entrances accounts for a high percentage of pedestrian run-overs, particularly affecting children and the elderly, who may be hidden from the driver's view.
