What function can authorized school patrols perform on the road?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Authorized school patrols have the power to invite drivers to stop to facilitate the crossing of schoolchildren. They generally do this by using a stop paddle or high-visibility clothing. It is important to note that: They are not Law Enforcement Officers, so they do not have the authority to impose fines or penalties. Their function is to regulate traffic to ensure the safety of minors. Although the technical term is to 'invite' to stop, drivers must obey their signals for safety and civic duty, as established by the General Traffic Regulations regarding authorized personnel.
