Is it mandatory to signal the load protruding from the rear of a passenger car?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is mandatory. According to General Traffic Regulations, in vehicles not exclusively designed for freight transport (such as passenger cars), the load may protrude from the rear up to 10% of the vehicle's length (if divisible) or 15% (if indivisible). In any case, it must always be marked with the V-20 panel (diagonal red and white stripes). Additionally, if driving at night or in low visibility conditions, a red light must be added. If the load occupies the entire width of the vehicle, two V-20 panels must be placed forming an inverted 'V'. The answer suggesting 'only if it protrudes more than 40 cm' is incorrect because the rule requires signaling for any rear projection.
