Current regulations establish specific speed limits on urban roads to improve road safety and protect vulnerable users. The maximum limit is 20 km/h on roads that have a single platform for the roadway and sidewalk, where pedestrians and vehicles share the same level. This same 20 km/h limit applies in areas signposted as residential streets. On roads with a single lane per direction, the limit is 30 km/h, and 50 km/h if there are two or more lanes per direction.
