Is it permitted to install additional non-regulatory lights on the vehicle without proper authorization?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is no, it is prohibited. The lighting and optical signaling system is fundamental for active safety and is strictly regulated by General Vehicle Regulations. Any alteration, such as adding spotlights or LED lights that were not standard, is considered a major modification. To be legal, it must be homologated, authorized, and recorded on the Technical Inspection Card (MOT/ITV). The other options are incorrect because even emergency lights or reflective paints are subject to specific homologation rules.
