Does an ambulance enjoy the right of way when driving without using its emergency lights or sirens?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is no, it is considered an ordinary vehicle. For priority vehicles (such as ambulances, police cars, fire engines) to have the right of way over other road users and be exempt from certain traffic rules, they must be performing an urgent service. This service must be signaled by the use of flashing lights (and sirens when necessary). If an ambulance drives without these signals activated, it is not considered to be on an emergency call and must therefore obey all traffic rules and signs (traffic lights, stop signs, yield signs) just like any other standard vehicle.
