If a traffic officer lowers their arms immediately after holding them horizontally outstretched, what must you do?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is to wait. According to traffic regulations, the stop signal (horizontally outstretched arms) remains in effect even if the officer lowers their arms. Lowering the arms is interpreted as a postural rest for the officer, but it does not cancel the previous stop order. You must remain stopped until the officer makes a new, unequivocal signal that changes the previous one (for example, waving you through or blowing a whistle). Remember that officer signals have absolute priority over traffic lights and other signs.
