How should you act if a traffic officer raises their arm vertically at an intersection?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

This signal indicates a mandatory stop for all road users approaching the officer, except for those drivers who cannot stop safely (for example, if they are already inside the junction). Key points: Hierarchy: Signals from officers take precedence over all others (green traffic lights, priority signs, etc.). Stopping place: You must stop at the nearest stop line or, failing that, before entering the intersection. The incorrect options suggest proceeding (which is prohibited by the signal) or stopping 'right in front of the officer', which is dangerous and obstructs the road.
