On which wheels does the service brake (foot brake) act in a passenger car?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is on all wheels. A vehicle's braking system is mainly composed of three types: service, emergency, and parking. Service Brake (Foot Brake): This is used to reduce speed or stop the vehicle while driving. By regulation and for safety, it must act on all wheels of the vehicle to ensure balanced braking and prevent loss of control. Parking Brake (Handbrake): Generally acts only on the rear wheels and serves to keep the vehicle stationary. Therefore, it is incorrect to think it acts only on the front or rear wheels, as this would severely compromise the car's stability.
