On a section of road where signage prohibits overtaking, is it permitted to perform a U-turn?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is NO, unless explicitly authorized by a sign. According to General Traffic Regulations, making a U-turn is prohibited in all places where overtaking is prohibited. The logic behind this rule is safety: sections where overtaking is banned usually have reduced visibility (bends, hill crests) or traffic conditions that would make turning around extremely dangerous. Therefore, the ban on overtaking implicitly carries a ban on U-turns, unless there is a specifically designated and signposted place for it (such as a loop or lay-by).
