As a general rule, on roads outside built-up areas with more than one lane for the same direction, you must drive in the right lane. The left or central lane will be used only for overtaking or when traffic circumstances require it. Once the overtaking is finished, it is mandatory to return to the right lane as soon as possible. It is only allowed to stay in the left lane if you are going to perform a new overtaking immediately and do not hinder faster vehicles.
