Is a cyclist obliged to undergo a breathalyzer test if required by traffic officers?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is mandatory. According to the Road Safety Law and General Traffic Regulations, a bicycle is a vehicle and the person riding it is a driver. Therefore, cyclists are required to submit to alcohol and drug detection tests in the same situations as other drivers (preventive checkpoints, involvement in accidents, or after committing an infraction). The other options are incorrect because the regulation does not distinguish between motor and non-motor vehicles for this obligation, and it applies on any public road, including bike lanes.
