Is it the driver's responsibility to ensure that animals travel properly restrained or positioned while driving?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is a fundamental obligation. According to Article 18 of the General Traffic Regulations, the driver must guarantee freedom of movement, the necessary field of vision and permanent attention to driving. To achieve this, the driver must ensure the proper placement of the objects or animals being carried so that they do not interfere. A loose animal is a double danger: it can physically distract the driver and cause an accident and, in the event of an impact or sudden braking, it acts as a projectile that multiplies its weight, putting the lives of all occupants at risk. The options suggesting that the responsibility ends when the journey begins or that it does not exist are false; safety must be maintained throughout the whole trip.
