Is the driver of a motorcycle equipped with a self-protection structure and seatbelts required to wear a protective helmet?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Spanish regulations establish a clear exception to mandatory helmet use. If the motorcycle has a self-protection structure and seatbelts, and this feature is expressly listed in the ITV card, the driver (and passengers, if applicable) must use the seatbelt without exception and is exempt from wearing a helmet. Wearing a helmet inside an enclosed structure while belted could be counterproductive and dangerous for the neck in the event of an impact.
