When reporting a traffic accident to emergency services, is it necessary to identify yourself?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is fundamental. Within the P.A.S. protocol (Protect, Alert, Help), the 'Alert' step requires providing accurate data. When calling 112, you must identify yourself with your personal details. This is necessary to verify the authenticity of the call, allow emergency services to contact you if they need more information or guidance to reach the scene, and to comply with the duty of civic cooperation. Providing only the license plate number is not sufficient to validate the caller's identity.
