Is it permitted to transport children under 12 years of age as passengers on a motorcycle?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is No, as a general rule. The General Traffic Regulations establish that the minimum age to travel as a passenger on a motorcycle or moped is 12 years. However, there is an important exception you should know: children over 7 years old may travel as passengers if the rider is their father, mother, legal guardian or an adult authorized by them. Regardless of age (provided it is allowed), the following conditions must be met: Wear an approved helmet of the right size. Sit astride (one leg on each side) with the feet resting on the side footrests. The seat must be behind the rider (never between the rider and the handlebars).
