From what height are minors authorized to use adult seat belts instead of a child restraint system?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

According to traffic regulations in Spain (General Traffic Regulations), the fundamental criterion for switching from a Child Restraint System (CRS) to a standard seat belt is height, not age. The rule states that minors with a height equal to or less than 135 centimeters must use approved child restraint systems adapted to their size and weight. Therefore, from a height exceeding 1.35 meters, minors can legally use the adult seat belt. Analysis of the answers: Correct (Over 1.35 m): This is the current legal limit. Incorrect (1.50 m): Although the DGT recommends continuing to use booster seats with a backrest until 1.50 m for a better belt fit, the legal obligation ends at 1.35 m. Incorrect (12 years): Older regulations were based on age, but this was changed to prioritize the actual physical build of the child.
