What is the maximum permitted speed for a passenger car towing a trailer on a motorway or highway?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Traffic regulations establish specific limits based on the vehicle type and the road. For a passenger car without a trailer, the general limit on motorways (autopistas/autovías) is 120 km/h. However, when towing a trailer (whether light or heavy), the maximum permitted speed is reduced to 90 km/h. This reduction is for safety reasons: braking distance increases, and the stability of the vehicle combination decreases at high speeds. Why the other answers are incorrect: 120 km/h: This is the limit for cars and motorcycles without a trailer. 100 km/h: This is the limit for buses and adaptable mixed vehicles on these roads. Remember that this 90 km/h limit is a maximum and cannot be exceeded under any circumstances, not even to overtake.
