Is it permitted to install non-approved tinted windows or adhesive films on a passenger car?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

No, it is strictly prohibited. According to traffic regulations, any modification to the vehicle's glass, such as tinting or adhesive films, must be duly approved (homologated). The use of non-approved material constitutes a serious infraction and will result in failing the Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV), as there is no guarantee that they meet minimum visibility and safety standards. Furthermore, remember that even if approved, tinted films are only allowed on the rear windshield and rear side windows, never on the front windshield or front side windows (except for very specific medical or security exceptions).
