Is it permitted to drive on public roads with a vehicle that exceeds its Maximum Authorized Mass (MAM)?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is: No, because it is dangerous. The Maximum Authorized Mass (MAM) is the maximum legal weight a loaded vehicle can reach to be driven safely. This limit is set by the manufacturer based on the technical capacity of the chassis, brakes, and tires. Driving with excess weight is prohibited because it alters the vehicle's physics: It increases braking distance (the vehicle takes longer to stop). It decreases stability, making the vehicle harder to control in curves. It damages the structure, potentially causing tire blowouts or suspension failure. The options suggesting exceptions for goods transport or driving within built-up areas are false; the weight limit is an absolute safety rule.
