What is the minimum required age for a person to travel as a passenger on a motorcycle or moped?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The traffic rules (General Traffic Regulations) establish a general rule and an important exception. The general rule is that the passenger must be at least 12 years old. The exception allows children over 7 years old to travel if the rider is their father, mother, legal guardian or an adult authorized by them. In all cases, the passenger must wear an approved helmet, sit astride and keep their feet on the side footrests. The answer saying 'always 12 years' is false because it omits the exception, and the one mentioning only the 'approved seat' is insufficient without the requirement of an authorized rider.
