Is it permitted to place adhesive or tinted films on the rear windows of a passenger car?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is permitted, but there is a mandatory safety requirement: the vehicle must be equipped with two exterior rear-view mirrors (one on the left and one on the right). According to Vehicle Regulations, when visibility through the rear window is reduced (as happens with solar films, sunshades, or cargo), the interior rear-view mirror is no longer considered sufficient, making the right exterior mirror mandatory. Additionally, the films must be properly homologated. Remember that, as a general rule, it is prohibited to install them on the windshield or the front side windows.
