Must the driver's headrests be adjustable?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is mandatory. The headrest is a key passive safety element designed to prevent neck injuries, specifically whiplash in the event of a rear-end collision. To be effective, it must always be adjustable, allowing its height and position to be adapted to the driver's physique. The top of the headrest should be level with the top of the head, and the gap between the head and the headrest should be minimal (about 4 cm).
