In addition to the fine, what measure does an agent take if they detect that a vehicle has not passed the ITV?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is that the agent withdraws the registration permit (Permiso de Circulación). When a traffic officer detects a vehicle driving without having passed the Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV) on time, or with an unfavorable result, they must confiscate the vehicle's Registration Certificate. In exchange, they will give the driver an official temporary slip (valid usually for 10 days) strictly to allow travel to the ITV station to fix the situation. A report is not filed with the court because this is an administrative infraction, not a criminal offense.
