Is it permitted for children under 12 years old to travel in the front seat of a car?

Question

Spanish regulations prioritize height over age. As a general rule, children 135 cm or shorter must travel in the rear seats. However, they may travel in the front seat in two main cases: 1) If they measure 135 cm or more, they can use the adult seatbelt. 2) If they measure less than 135 cm, they can only travel in the front exceptionally using a homologated Child Restraint System (CRS) if the rear seats are already occupied by other children, do not exist, or cannot accommodate the CRS.
