Where should luggage preferably be placed in a passenger car?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The ideal and safest place to transport luggage is the trunk (boot). Main reasons: Safety: It prevents objects from being thrown at occupants in the event of sudden braking or a collision (the 'projectile effect'). Stability: It keeps the vehicle's center of gravity low, which improves stability in turns. Regarding the other options: The roof rack should only be used when the trunk is insufficient, as it raises the center of gravity and increases air resistance (increasing fuel consumption). The rear seats can be used exceptionally, but the load must always be properly secured with seatbelts or cargo nets to prevent it from shifting.
