Is it permitted for children under 12 years of age to occupy the front seats of a passenger car?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Spanish regulations state that, as a general rule, minors with a height equal to or less than 135 cm must travel in the rear seats. Therefore, the correct answer is 'No, except for exceptions'. There are only three exceptions where a minor is allowed to occupy the front seat (always with an approved child restraint system): When the vehicle does not have rear seats (e.g., a two-seater). When all rear seats are already occupied by other minors with their respective restraint systems. When it is not possible to install all necessary restraint systems in those seats. It is important to remember that the current main reference is height (135 cm), not just age, although the question refers to children under 12 as a group that usually falls under this height restriction.
