Is it allowed to ride an electric scooter while using headphones connected to sound players or using a mobile phone?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

No, it is strictly prohibited. According to DGT regulations, drivers of Personal Mobility Vehicles (VMP), such as electric scooters, are treated the same as drivers of other vehicles in this regard. Therefore, they cannot ride while using headsets or headphones connected to sound receivers or players, nor can they manually use a mobile phone. These actions are considered serious offenses (usually fined 200 euros) as they reduce attention and audibly isolate the rider from traffic.
