Is it mandatory for a vehicle's lighting system to have headlamp washers?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is that it is not mandatory as a general rule for all vehicles, but it is a highly recommended safety feature. Headlamp washers help keep the headlight surface free of mud, insects, or snow, preventing light dispersion and ensuring effective illumination. Important nuance for the test: Although the general rule states it is not mandatory, there is a specific exception. Vehicles equipped with gas discharge lamps (Xenon lights) or certain high-intensity LED systems (over 2,000 lumens) ARE required to have a headlight cleaning system and automatic leveling, as dirt on these headlights causes severe glare. However, since the question does not specify the type of light, the general rule applies.
