Must a vehicle undergo a technical inspection if a major modification is made to it?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is completely mandatory. A major modification is any change that varies the technical characteristics listed on the vehicle's ITV card (such as changing the engine, suspension, or installing a towing device). To ensure the vehicle remains safe and complies with regulations, it must undergo an extraordinary ITV to legalize said modification. This is independent of the date of the next periodic inspection; it must be done after the modification is made in order to drive legally.
