When approaching a vehicle immobilized on the roadway, are you obliged to moderate your speed?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

According to the General Traffic Regulations, every driver must moderate their speed and, if necessary, stop when approaching a vehicle immobilized on the roadway, but this specific obligation applies outside built-up areas (interurban roads). The reason is that on highways, the presence of a vehicle stopped on the road poses a high risk (breakdown, accident, assistance). In urban areas (inside towns), encountering stopped or parked vehicles is common and does not carry the systematic obligation to reduce speed unless there is an evident danger.
