Specifically, access is prohibited for: animal-drawn vehicles, bicycles, mopeds, and vehicles for people with reduced mobility (as well as pedestrians and animals). There is an important exception: cyclists over 14 years of age may ride on the shoulders of dual carriageways (autovías), but never on highways (autopistas), unless a sign expressly prohibits it for safety reasons.
