The validity period of the ITV is calculated from the date on which the inspection result is favorable. This is logical because until the vehicle is declared fit to drive, it does not have administrative validity to do so. If you undergo the inspection and the result is unfavorable or negative, the validity counter does not start; instead, a period to fix the defects opens. Once fixed and a favorable rating is obtained, that specific date marks the beginning of the validity period until the next mandatory inspection (unless the inspection is done within 30 days prior to expiration, in which case the date of the previous one is respected).
