What mandatory conditions must be met for bicycles to be allowed to ride on the shoulders of dual carriageways?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Although as a general rule bicycle traffic is prohibited on motorways and dual carriageways, the General Traffic Regulations establish an exclusive exception for dual carriageways. To qualify for this exception, two simultaneous requirements must be met: 1) The bicycle rider must be over 14 years old. 2) There must be no specific signage prohibiting their passage for justified road safety reasons. It is important to remember that on motorways the prohibition is total, regardless of age or traffic.
