What is the most suitable item to extinguish the flames if an accident victim's clothes are burning?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct way to put out a fire on an injured person's clothing is to smother the flames by cutting off the oxygen supply. To do this, the ideal is to cover the injured person with a blanket or large items of clothing (such as a coat), making sure they are not made of synthetic fibers that could melt. Why not the other options? A fire extinguisher must never be used directly on a person's body, since the chemical powder is toxic to open wounds and the propellant gas comes out at very low temperatures, which would cause additional frostbite burns. A plastic object is extremely dangerous because it melts with the heat and sticks to the skin, seriously aggravating the injuries.
