During which time of the year do traffic accidents involving cyclists occur most frequently?

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is in summer (and spring). According to the statistics of the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), accidents involving cyclists are concentrated in the months of good weather and, especially, on weekends and public holidays. This is mainly due to an increase in exposure to risk: when the weather improves, the number of people using bicycles for recreational or sporting purposes on the roads rises massively. In winter, although weather conditions are more dangerous (rain, ice), there are far fewer cyclists on the road, so the total accident rate is lower.
