As a general rule, the use of the VAO (HOV) lane is limited to motorcycles, passenger cars, and adaptable mixed vehicles. For an adaptable mixed vehicle to access it, two fundamental conditions must be met: 1) It must not exceed 3,500 kg of Maximum Authorized Mass (MAM/MMA) and 2) It must be occupied by the minimum number of people required (usually two or more, including the driver). Vehicles displaying the V-15 sign (people with reduced mobility) and those with Zero Emission or ECO stickers (depending on signage) may also use the lane regardless of occupancy. Trucks and vans are prohibited from entering, barring specific exceptions.
