Are motorcycles permitted to drive in a lane designated for High Occupancy Vehicles (VAO/HOV)?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is yes. According to the General Traffic Regulations, VAO (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes are primarily intended for vehicles transporting people with a maximum authorized mass not exceeding 3,500 kg. Although the general rule requires a minimum number of occupants, there are specific exceptions: two and three-wheeled motorcycles are allowed to use the VAO lane regardless of the number of occupants (the driver alone is sufficient). Vehicles with a reduced mobility badge (V-15) and 'Zero Emission' vehicles may also use it, regardless of occupancy.
