In a private car, is it mandatory to carry a specific reflective vest for the passenger?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Current traffic regulations state that it is mandatory to carry at least one approved high-visibility reflective vest in the vehicle. This must be located in a place accessible from the inside (usually the glove compartment or door pockets) so the driver can put it on before exiting the vehicle. Regarding passengers: it is not mandatory to carry additional vests for them, but it is highly recommended. The reason is safety: if passengers must exit the vehicle on an interurban road due to a breakdown or accident, they are also required to wear a reflective vest when walking on the roadway or shoulder. Therefore, while you will not be fined for not carrying a second vest, not having one will prevent the passenger from exiting the vehicle with legal safety compliance.
