If you are forced to stop on an interurban road to change a tire, must you put on the reflective vest before exiting the vehicle?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, it is absolutely mandatory. According to Traffic Regulations, when occupying the roadway or shoulder of interurban roads (outside built-up areas), the use of an approved high-visibility reflective vest is compulsory. The key factor is safety: you must put it on inside the vehicle before stepping out to ensure you are visible to other road users immediately. Neither the duration of the stop nor the type of road (motorway or conventional road) exempts you from this obligation.
