If the need arises to make an urgent mobile phone call while driving, what is the correct course of action?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Manual use of a mobile phone is a serious offense and a leading cause of distraction. The urgency of the call does not exempt the driver from safety rules. Reducing speed does not eliminate cognitive and visual distraction, and stopping 'anywhere' (such as on a hard shoulder or double parking) creates a serious hazard. The only correct and safe action is to continue driving until you find a designated and safe place (parking zone, rest area, etc.) to stop the vehicle properly before using the phone.
