To circulate on public roads, what type of vehicle emissions must not exceed the maximum permitted levels?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The General Vehicle Regulation establishes strict rules to protect the environment and public health. It is strictly forbidden for motor vehicles to circulate if they emit gases, smoke, or pollutants above the limit values established in the vehicle's homologation. The exhaust system and silencer must be maintained in good condition to avoid both excessive noise and pollutant emissions. These levels are checked periodically during the Vehicle Technical Inspection (MOT/ITV). The other options are incorrect because: Vibrations may indicate a mechanical fault (such as broken engine mounts), but they do not constitute an environmentally regulated 'emission' limit for circulation. LED lights relate to the lighting system, not emissions.
