Although the use of hands-free systems is permitted, what is recommended regarding the duration of phone calls while driving?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Using a mobile phone is one of the main causes of distraction at the wheel. Although the hands-free system is legal, it causes 'cognitive distraction': the brain concentrates on the conversation and stops processing information from the road (inattentional blindness). Studies indicate that after a minute and a half of conversation, the driver stops noticing up to 40% of signs. For this reason, the road safety guideline recommends that calls be very brief and not last more than one minute. Stopping 'anywhere' is incorrect because it could be a prohibited or dangerous place, and reducing speed without justification can hinder traffic.
