Does body weight influence the blood alcohol level a person reaches after consuming alcohol?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, body weight is a determining personal factor in blood alcohol concentration (BAC). Alcohol is diluted in body fluids; therefore, a person with lower weight has less fluid volume in their body to dissolve the ingested alcohol. As a result, they will reach a higher BAC and suffer the effects more quickly and intensely than a heavier person who has drunk the same amount. The answers denying this influence are incorrect, as they ignore the basic physiology of ethanol absorption and distribution in the body.
