During driving instruction in a learner vehicle, who is legally considered the driver?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

The correct answer is the person in control of the additional controls (the instructor). According to traffic regulations, although the student physically operates the steering wheel and main pedals, they do not yet hold a driving license. Therefore, the rule establishes that in vehicles designed for driving instruction (equipped with dual controls), the instructor or trainer accompanying the learner is considered the driver. They are responsible for safety and can intervene using the additional controls in an emergency. The student only acquires the legal status of a driver once they have passed the test and obtained the license.
