According to general vehicle classification, is a trolleybus considered a motor vehicle?

Question

DentroTest · Accepted Answer

Yes, the trolleybus is a motor vehicle. According to General Vehicle Regulations, it is defined as a motor vehicle designed and constructed for the transport of persons with more than nine seats (including the driver). Although it takes electric power from an overhead line, its key characteristic is that it does not run on rails, but on pneumatic tires on the road. This distinguishes it from a tram (which runs on rails) and fully includes it in the definition of a motor vehicle, just like a standard bus.
